In June 2022, the indoor exhibition of the ecological exhibition hall was completed, marking the basic formation of this building that has been nurtured for more than two years. Therefore, I wrote down the keyword "scars and regeneration" that has always lingered in my mind, and used it as the title of the design summary. Unexpectedly, in August, a fierce and violent wildfire engulfed the southern foot of Jinyun Mountain. After eight thrilling and tearful days, the wildfire was finally extinguished by the soldiers and civilians who were united as a flesh-and-blood Great Wall, and countless heroes made history. The quiet and picturesque Daihu Lake water made an important contribution to this rescue and firefighting operation, and was drawn and sprayed on the raging fire several kilometers away. Looking back on the design process, in addition to the memory and touch of the building and the scene, the biggest feeling is that every tree is protected "carefully", and the architectural space and construction work that coexist with the mountains and forests are organized as much as possible. From local leaders to the general public, Jinyun Mountain has long been regarded as a treasure, and it is cared for this green water and green mountains like caring for dewdrops. Today, in some of the mountains where the fire has swept, the trees have turned into carbon, and the green mountains are not green, which adds the most direct footnote to the importance and difficulty of fully realizing ecological civilization. The fire also reflects the complexity, comprehensiveness and scientific nature of the natural ecosystem, leaving more experience, imagination and expectations for the scientific maintenance, sustainable symbiosis and interaction between people and mountains.
"If people do not betray the green mountains, the green mountains will not betray people."
