Chongqing's new landmark - Chongqing Raffles Square, as a masterpiece of Safdie Architects, explores new possibilities of urban design. This urban complex, as a catalyst for urban renewal, has created a new landmark for Chongqing, a megacity in western China. "Chongqing has a history of thousands of years. The city is now developing and renewing rapidly, and the design requirements for the increasing number of super-large and high-density building projects are becoming higher and higher. According to the huge volume of the project and the complex site characteristics, our design will reconnect the city's flow of people, vehicles, rail transit and ferries, and layer these resources on the most important historical landmark in Chongqing - Chaotianmen, a place for welcoming officials and saints." - Moshe Safdie
